I was born in Phoenix, Arizona. I currently live in San Marcos and have been there since 1998. My B.S. and M.Ed are from Texas State University. I am currently getting my 2nd masters degree in counseling from UT Tyler. I met my husband in high school in Lubbock, Texas. We have been together for 27 years and married for 16 years. We have a 15 year old son named Zane and a 12 year old daughter named Scarlet. I love all animals, especially cats. I love to travel, read, sleep, and go to concerts. I taught Art and AV CTE classes at Paredes Middle school for the last 11 years. I taught elementary technology classes for 8 years before I moved to Austin ISD.

My name is Gaylene Waite I am happy to be joining the Bobcat family. My goal is to help all students be successful academically, socially, and emotionally. I am here as a resource to teachers, children, and families to identify, address, and mitigate challenges so that all students can thrive academically and socially.I earned my Bachelor of Science from Texas State University and spent my first fifteen years in Education as a teacher. I completed my Masters of Science in School Counseling from University of Houston and have spent the last ten years as a School Counselor.
